Allan McNish steered his diesel engined Audi home in to third place after a spirited recovery in the Le Mans 24 Hour race which ended today (13 June) as the German manufacturer scored a dominant 1-2-3 result.

Audi Sport Team Joest has completed its preparations for the 78th running of the Le Mans 24 Hours with a fastest time in the warm-up session. On a wet track Allan McNish recorded the quickest time of all 56 participants in the number 7 Audi R15 TDI.

Allan McNish starts his diesel-engined Audi from sixth position in the 78th Le Mans 24 Hour endurance sportscar race on Saturday afternoon (2pm BST) after the Scotsman improved his fastest lap time in last night's (THURS) final time trials.

The diesel-engined Audi sportscar of Britain's Allan McNish claimed a provisional fourth row spot by setting the seventh fastest time in the opening qualifying session for this weekend's Le Mans 24 Hours last night (WED).
